Dave’s MCL Sprain Patient Story

Posted on: July 28th, 2023 by Our Team

Dave was a hard worker right off the bat. He suffered an MCL sprain in August while playing in a 50+ softball league. He tried to continue playing and then rehab on his own but reached a plateau where he wasn’t seeing the pain get any better. He decided to seek out care from our orthopedic staff and then headed our way to the California office in January 2023. He presented at first with pain with twisting, walking, and day-to-day activities.

He came eager to improve and get better from day one. We first worked to restore strength and neuromuscular control(knee stability) and then progressed to multi-directional exercises so that he could return to playing softball. He showed up ready to work, giving 110% and he had fun at the same time. He quickly progressed from strengthening to high-level agility and softball drills. He impressed many of us with the level of agility exercises he was able to do!

Every day was a day to get better and push himself and he never felt better than after a good and challenging workout. Now he is back on track and feels he is in the best shape of his life and more ready than ever to get back to playing softball in April.
