Lance Burk, PT, DPT, CSCS

Clinic Manager

Lance is a physical therapist centered in the Southern Maryland (SOMD) area who enjoys treating and rehabilitating patients with shoulder, spine, hip, knee, and ankle dysfunctions. Additionally, he enjoys treating all sports-related injuries, and he aspires to specialize in treating throwing and rotational athletes.

Education

Lance attended Juniata College in Central PA, where he received his Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in Biology in 2019. After his undergraduate education, Lance attended Saint Francis University, where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) in May 2022. Along the way, Lance obtained his Certified Strength and Conditioning certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)

Experience

He recently moved to SOMD in August to start his physical therapy career. Over the past two years in Western PA, Lance spent 40 weeks working full time as a student physical therapist in 3 different outpatient settings and in 1 hospital ICU. He has Strength and Conditioning experience from working at the gym at Juniata College with Coach Smith, and from being an athlete in his past.

Philosophy

Lance uses an individualized, evidence-based approach that is shaped around patient preference and science. He believes that purposeful and appropriate movement is medicine. He is passionate about active participation in the healing process, and likes to empower patients to reach their goals.

Personal

He is the oldest of six kids, so he loves seeing his family and friends when he returns home to Western PA. In his free time, Lance likes lifting weights, visiting new areas, being outdoors, hiking, fishing, and watching sports (Go Steelers). Lance is pleased to be involved in the SOMD community.
